राखी का त्योहार लक्ष्मी  जी ने  दानव राज  बाली को राखी बाँध कर   शुरू किया था.  दानव राज  राजा बलि अश्वमेध यज्ञ करा रहें थे. नारायण ने राजा बालि की बढ़ती शक्ति को नियंत्रित करने के लिये  वामन/ बौना  अवतार लिया. बाली दानी राजा था. नारायण ने वामन बन बाली  से दान में तीन पग या तीन क़दम  धरती माँगी. बाली ने वामन का  छोटा आकार देख हामी भर दी. तब नारायण ने विराट रुप ले कर  तीन पग में उसकी सारी धरती नाप ली और  बाली को पाताल लोक का राज्य रहने के लिये दें दिया l

चतुर बाली ने नारायण की बात मानते हुए अपनी एक  कामना पूरी  करने का वचन तीन बार – त्रिवाचा लिया. नारायण अपनी सफलता से प्रसन्न हो तीन बार बाली से कह बैठे – “दूँगा दूँगा दूँगा”.  तब  बलि  ने नारायण से कहा – ” मेरे सोने  और जागने पर  जिधर भी मेरी दृष्टी…

खोज रहें हैं, एक सुदामा सा कोई मिल जाए !

वैसे तो मीत बनाने को

ना जाने कब से ढूँढ रहें हैं कान्हा को भी.

अभी तक वो तो मिले नहीं.

कहते हैं, अहंकार सेकृष्ण को पाया नहीं जा सकता.

अब मीरा-राधा सा निश्छल हृदय कहाँ से लायें?

जो कृष्ण मिल जायें?

इसलिए खोज रहें हैं,

एक सुदामा सा तो कोई मित्र मिल जाए !

तब अच्छाइयों और कमियों के साथ जानो.

उसके सुख-दुख जानो।

वरना आईना
