Menstrual Hygiene Day (MHD, MH Day in short) is an annual awareness day on May 28 to highlight the importance of good menstrual hygiene management (MHM). It was initiated by the German-based NGO WASH Unitedin 2014 and aims to benefit women and girls worldwide. The 28th was selected to acknowledge that 28 days is the average length of the menstrual cycle.

Periods can be really difficult for women special for younger girls.
It’s sad that taboo and stigma are attached to periods when it’s something that affects every woman.

I don’t understand, Why can’t we talk about menstruation?
Have you heard about Ambubachi mela held at Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati, Assam ? It is believed that the presiding goddess of the temple, Devi Kamakhya, the Mother Shakti, goes through her annual cycle of menstruation during this time stretch.
Anyway, you are welcome and thanks for sharing your thoughts.

This taboo of menstruating women of any age , becomes really significant when menstruating women are not allowed to enter a temple or other holy places.

मुझे लगता है, आज का युवा वर्ग काफ़ी समझदार होता जा रहा है. शायद गाँवों में भी ऐसी सुधार आए.
