Sports ministry sends nine names for Padmas. This time it’s all women

In a first in the history of Indian sports, all the nine athletes nominated by the Sports Ministry for Padma Awards are women.

The recommendations have been sent to the Ministry of Home Affairs which will further announce the awardees on January 25th, 2020. Below are the 9 nominated sportswomen who made the coutry proud in their respective domain.
