In 1996 the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed that 7 December was to be the International Civil Aviation Day.
The day has been celebrated by the International Civil Aviation Organization since 7 December 1994, the 50th anniversary of the signing the Convention on International Civil Aviation.[1] The purpose of the day is to recognize the importance of aviation, especially international air travel, to the social and economic development of the world.

अंतर्राष्ट्रीय नागरिक उड्डयन संगठन ने 7 दिसंबर 1 99 4 से अंतर्राष्ट्रीय नागरिक उड्डयन पर कन्वेंशन पर हस्ताक्षर करने की 50 वीं वर्षगांठ का दिन मनाया। इस का उद्देश्य दुनिया के सामाजिक और आर्थिक विकास के लिए विमानन, विशेषकर अंतरराष्ट्रीय हवाई यात्रा के महत्व को पहचानना है।
