Chattushringi / Chattushrungi Temple Pune

The presiding deity of the temple is Goddess Chattushringi, also known as Goddess Ambareshwari. She is also considered as the presiding deity of the city of Pune.

 

 

 

One of the fascinating things about the temple is that, the Chaturshringi temple has a miniature scale model of its entire premises displayed at the entrance.

Chattushringi (Chattu means four) is a mountain with four peaks. The Chattushringi temple is 90 feet high and 125 feet wide and is a symbol of power and faith.

 

The temple is  on the slope of a hill on Senapati Bapat Road. It is said to have been built during the reign of the Maratha king Shivaji.

Beautiful Heritage  Swayambhu  Someshwar temple of Pune was  built with black stone  in  1640 by Shivaji for his mother Jijabai.

पुणे के इस सुंदर विरासत  स्वयंभू ( स्वंय भुमि से निकला शिवलिंग)  सोमेश्वर मंदिर  को 1640 में शिवाजी ने काले पत्थरों से,  अपनी मां जिजाबाई के लिए बनाया था। वह वहाँ नियमित रुप से पूजा करने आती थीं।

 :

ॐ त्र्यम्बकं यजामहे
सुगन्धिं पुष्टिवर्धनम्
उर्वारुकमिव बन्धनान्
मृत्योर्मुक्षीय मामृतात् ॥
Om Try-Ambakam Yajaamahe
Sugandhim Pusstti-Vardhanam
Urvaarukam-Iva Bandhanaan
Mrtyor-Mukssiiya Maa-[A]mrtaat ||

– from Rig Veda 7.59.12

Meaning:
1: Om, We Worship the Three-Eyed One (Lord Shiva),
2: Who is Fragrant (Spiritual Essence) and Who Nourishes all beings.
3: May He severe our Bondage of Samsara (Worldly Life), like a Cucumber (severed from the bondage of its Creeper), …
4: … and thus Liberate us from the Fear of Death, by making us realize that we are never separated from our Immortal Nature.

मंदिर, मस्जिद, चर्च, गुरुद्वारे….

में हम सब के  जलाये , 

अगरबत्ती, मोमबत्ती, दीप……..

जलने के बाद

इनकी  धूम्र रेखाएं अौर  रौशनी

आपस में   ऐसे घुलमिल जातीं हैं,

अगर चाहो भी तो अलग नहीं कर सकते।

हम कब ऐसे घुलना-मिलना सीखेंगे?
