Kabir : The songs of a weaver – 1

Listen carefully,

neither the vedas

nor the Quran

will teach you this:

put the bit in its mouth,

The saddle on its back,

your foot in the stirrup,

And ride your wild runway mind,

all the way to heaven.

Meaning –

Self – rider

chariot – the body

The intellect – charioteer,

Our mind – reins

The senses – horse,

The parts around them are the objects of the senses.

      I am reading books on Kabir written by A K Mehrotra ,
      Second on is by V Dharwadker .
      Third one is a Hindi book . I am really enjoying them. I am mesmerised by his spiritual thoughts.

        Kabir was also called the Father of Spirituality as he has planted understanding into the hearts of many people and desciples. Kabir, Rumi, Shamez e Tabrez, Hafiz, Sant Kirpal Singh, Baba Jaimal Singh, Guru Nanak, Christ and many other competent Masters have all spoken in one opionion and all practised “Surat Shabd Yoga” – the inner Light and Sound-Yoga.

        The “Dialogues of Kabir” – I read in English by B.K. Narayan Rajeev Sawhney – another beautiful book by Him: “The Anurag Sagar”.
        Another beautiful book, a kind of biography of Baba Jaimal Singh, you can read here in English:

        In this book it is described how He was searching for the truth, went to many holy people, rishis and munis, fakirs and saints until He found His Master – really a spiritual treasure.

      2. Yes, They are free from artifice and artificiality ( As said by guru Kirpal sing for Goodman )
        I have read many spiritual verses of Kabir when I was in school, as it was in our course.
        But at that time I was too young to understand the deep spiritual meaning. But all such great souls and their verses fascinates me
        I am really glad that I got a spiritual friend like you. I ‘ll certainly read the books suggested by you.
