When I fought fires, Rekha, I learned you never know how well you will handle a challenge until you have taken it on. You can be the toughest looking macho man anyone has seen. Everyone can say you’ll do well. But until you face a twelve foot wall of fire yourself and can make yourself walk towards it, rather than freeze or run, neither you nor anyone else really knows how you will do.
