जागती रातों में, उनिंदी आँखों से ,
चाँद पकड़ने की कोशिश में ,
सूरज सामने आ जाता है ,
और फिर सूरज पकड़ने की कोशिश में चाँद .
रात- दिन ढलते रहते हैं और हाथ कुछ नहीं आता .
तब समझ आया – कुछ भी पकड़ने की कोशिश बेकार है .
ज़िंदगी के हर आते जाते धूप-छांव और रंगों को
ज़िंदादिली से जीना हीं ज़िंदगी है !!!!

चोट जो नहीं दिखते
ऐसा जरुरी नही हर जुर्म में हाथों पर खून हो।
आँखों को ना दिखाते वाले, मन को लगे
गहरे चोट, कभी-कभी दिलो-दिमाग को,
रक्ताघात के ज़ख्म से ज्यादा
बोझिल बना देते हैं ।
आत्मा पर लगे ऐसे घाव ,
दीर्घकालिन अौर कभी-कभी,
ताउम्र कटु यादें बन कर मन को सतातीं है।

गुलाबी आँखों के दरिया के ज्वार भाटे में,
पानी हीं पानी हैं।

यादें क्या फ़ुरसत औ समय देख कर आतीं हैं ?
सुबह आँखें खुलते याद आ जाता है चेहरा,
रात आँखें बंद होने तक याद आता है चेहरा
अौर बीता मंज़र।
क्या हज़ारों ख्वाब टूटते रहेंगें?
क्या सिर्फ यादें दस्तक देती रहेंगी?
शाम–औ– सहर…उदास रहेगा क्या हमेशा?
