आर्कटिक बीज वॉल्ट “Doomsday Seed Vault” in the Arctic

On a desolate Arctic island, off the coast of Norway is the Svalbard Global Seed Vault, a repository with the capacity to hold up to 2.25 billion seeds in the event of a “doomsday” catastrophe.

 

क्या आप जानते हैं कि दुनिया में ऐसे शोध अौर काम भी चल रहें हैं?    जिसे  डूम्सडे  (प्रलय का दिन ) बीज वॉल्ट कहा जाता है?

स्वालबार्ड ग्लोबल बीज वॉल्ट  नॉर्वेजियन द्वीप पर एक सुरक्षित बीज बैंक है।  स्वाल्बार्ड ग्लोबल बीज वॉल्ट का मिशन पारंपरिक जीनबैंक  को आकस्मिक नुकसान से सुरक्षा  देने के लिये बनाया गया। यह  वैश्विक खाद्य फसलों के बीज को युद्ध या प्राकृतिक आपदाओं से बचाने के लिये बनाया गया है। यहाँ दुनिया भर से बीज संग्रह किये गये हैं।

इस की शुरुआत नॉर्डिक जीन बैंक  ने 1 9 84 से, एक खाली कोयले की खदान में  बीजों को शुन्य से नीचे तापमान पर जमा कर  संग्रहित करे से हुआ।  बाद में बीज बैंक  स्वालबार्ड ग्लोबल सीड वॉल्ट, निर्माण किया गया । जो बर्फीले आर्कटिक क्षेत्र के  एक  पर्वत के अंदर बना  है,  और मजबूत सुरक्षा प्रणालियों से लैस है। बीजों के कमरे को  -18 डिग्री सेल्सियस (-0.4 डिग्री फारेनहाइट) पर रखा जाता है। कम तापमान और सीमित ऑक्सीजन बीजों  को सुरक्षित रखते हैं।

  7. I’m taking the chance thinking you’re saying more or less the same in the two languages and press like:) I’m from Norway, and know this vault from before. It’s a good project, I think.

    1. Hi, Nice to know that you are from Norway . It’s more or less similar in English and Hindi ( India). In Hindi I have given some more details as this news/ project is not available on internet in Hindi. Yes, its a unique project.

  8. maine iske bare me bahut pehle hi padh rakha tha discovery channel par bhi ise dikhaya gaya tha yah aisa bhandaran grih ahi jaha duniya bhar ke anajo or anya tarah ke mahatvapurn bijo ko sangrahit kiya ja raha hai taki musibat ke waqt inka istemaal kya ja sake jaise vilupt prajati

    1. यह अच्छ़ी बात है कि आप Well informed हैं। हिंदी में इस बारे में कम हीं जानकारी उपलब्ध है।
      यह project काफी समय से काम कर रहा है। हाल में उसमें अौर बीज रखा गया है।

      इस post को पढ़ कर Norway से भी किसी ने मुझे इस project की बात बताई।

  9. Nice post. Once everything is destroyed, what would we do with seed bank? Who will plant these seeds? No one shall have access code, because everything will be dead or gone.
