What is gaming disorder?

Gaming disorder is defined in the draft 11th Revision of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-11) as a pattern of gaming behavior (“digital-gaming” or “video-gaming”) characterized by impaired control over gaming, increasing priority given to gaming over other activities to the extent that gaming takes precedence over other interests and daily activities, and continuation or escalation of gaming despite the occurrence of negative consequences.

For gaming disorder to be diagnosed, the behaviour pattern must be of sufficient severity to result in significant impairment in personal, family, social, educational, occupational or other important areas of functioning and would normally have been evident for at least 12 months

अगर आपके घर में भी बच्चे -बङे वीडियो गेम के एडिक्ट हो चुके हैं, तब यह परेशानी बन सकती है. इस व्यवहार को विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन (डब्ल्यूएचओ) ने मानसिक स्वास्थ्य स्थिति की श्रेणी में रखा है.

मनोवैज्ञानिक शोध बताते है  यह लत ड्रग्स या शराब की लत जितनी खतरनाक और नुकसानदायक हो सकती है।ज्यादातर,  बच्चे और युवा वर्ग इंटरनेट एडिक्‍शन डिस्‍ऑर्ड  से पीड़ित पाए गये हैं। ये दिन मे 5 से 10 घंटे तक का समय इंटरनेट पर बिताते है। घंटों अॉन लाईन रहना, अश्लील चीजे देखने की आदत इसके शुरुआती लक्षण है । चाइनीज एकेडमी ऑफ साइंस रिसर्च के अनुसार इंटरनेट की बुरी लत सोचने के क्षमता, रचनात्मकता,  दिमाग और प्रतिरक्षा क्षमता को कमजोर करती है।

अगर एक बार इंटरनेट की लत लग जाये तो फिर उससे आसानी से पीछा नहीं छुड़ाया जा सकता। लेकिन थोड़ी से कोशिश करके इस लत से  छुटकारा पाया जा  सकता है।

1) अगर आप दिन मे 2-3 घंटो से ज्यादा समय social networking sites जैसे की facebook और whatsapp बार बिताते है तो धीरे धीरे इसे कम करे .

2) परिवार और दोस्तों के साथ  ज्यादा समय बिताए।अकेलेपन से बचें ।  अपने आपको भावनात्मक रूप से अकेला महसूस करने वाले लोग  सबसे ज्यादा समय इंटरनेट विशेषकर social networking sites पर बिताते है।

3) रात को जल्दी सोये और सुबह जल्दी उठने की आदत डाले।  योगा या ध्यान  करें।
