शनिवार वाड़ा भारत के महाराष्ट्र के पुणे  में स्थित एक दुर्ग है जिनका निर्माण १८वीं सदी में १७४६ में किया था। यह मराठा पेशवाओं की सीट थी। जब मराठाओं ने ईस्ट इंडिया कम्पनी से नियंत्रण खो दिया तो तीसरा आंग्ल-मराठा युद्ध हुआ था तब मराठों ने इसका निर्माण करवाया था।  दुर्ग खुद को काफी हद तक आग से १८३८ में नष्ट हो गया था, लेकिन बची संरचनाएं अब एक पर्यटक स्थल के रूप में स्थित है।

कहा जाता है कि शनिवारवाड़ा परिसर सात मंजिला ऊँचा था। शीर्ष तल पर पेशवा का निवास था . जिसे मेघदम्बरी कहा जाता था। ऐसा कहा जाता है कि 17 किमी दूर आलंदी में स्थित जैनेश्वर मंदिर के शिखर को वहां से देखा जा सकता था।

Shaniwarwada  is a historical fortification in the city of Pune in Maharashtra, India. Built in 1732, it was the seat of the Peshwas of the Maratha Empire until 1818, when the Peshwas lost control to the British East India Company after the Third Anglo-Maratha War. Following the rise of the Maratha Empire, the palace became the center of Indian politics in the 18th century. The fort itself was largely destroyed in 1828 by an unexplained fire, but the surviving structures are now maintained as a tourist site.

It is said that the Shaniwarwada complex was seven storeys high. On the top floor was the residence of the Peshwa which was called Meghadambari. It is said that the spire of Jñāneśvar temple at Alandi, 17 km away, could be seen from there.

ताउम्र हिसाब करती है ज़िंदगी.

जिसने ज़िंदगी को क़रीब से देखा है

कटु सच्चाई को परखा और महसूस किया है

उन्हें या तो ज़िन्दगी के तकलीफ़

बेहद कड़वा-कठोर बना देती है .

या बेहद नरम मृदु ,

क्योंकि वे दूसरों के कष्ट को समझ

कम करने की कोशिश करते है .

यह ज़िन्दगी भी कुछ अजीब है ना ?

Before Nelson Mandela left prison he said “As I stand before the door to my freedom, I realise that if I do not leave my pain, anger and bitterness behind me, I will still be in prison”.

Self imprisonment is worse than that imposed. How many are in self inflicted pains today for lack of forgiveness. How many of us have imprisoned ourselves inside the walls of anger and bitterness.

Holding grudges does not make you strong, it makes you bitter. Forgiveness does not make you weak, it sets you free.

Consider this while you are preparing to move into 2019.

उसूलों पे जहाँ आँच आये, टकराना ज़रूरी है
जो ज़िन्दा हों तो फिर ज़िन्दा नज़र आना ज़रूरी है
नई उम्रों की ख़ुदमुख़्तारियों को कौन समझाये
कहाँ से बच के चलना है, कहाँ जाना ज़रूरी है
थके-हारे परिन्दे जब बसेरे के लिये लौटें
सलीक़ामन्द शाख़ों का लचक जाना ज़रूरी है
बहुत बेबाक आँखों में त’अल्लुक़ टिक नहीं पाता
मुहब्बत में कशिश रखने को शरमाना ज़रूरी है
सलीक़ा ही नहीं शायद उसे महसूस करने का
जो कहता है, ख़ुदा है तो नज़र आना ज़रूरी है
मेरे होंठों पे अपनी प्यास रख दो और फिर सोचो
कि इसके बाद भी दुनिया में कुछ पाना ज़रूरी है।

Nothing should stand between you and God.

No imams, priests, rabbits or any other custodians of moral or religious leadership.

Not spiritual masters and not even your faith. Believe in your values and your rules, but never lord them over others.

If you keep breaking other people’s hearts, whatever religious duty you perform is no good. Stay away from all sorts of idolatry, for they will blur your vision.

Let God and only God be your guide. Learn the Truth, my friend, but be careful not to make a fetish out of your truths.
