1.Green – Normal weather condition, 2.Status Yellow Weather Alert – Be Aware

The concept behind YELLOW level weather alerts is to notify those who are at risk because of their location and/or activity, and to allow them to take preventative action. It is implicit that YELLOW level weather alerts are for weather conditions that do not pose an immediate threat to the general population, but only to those exposed to risk by nature of their location and/or activity.

3.Status Orange Weather Alert – Be Prepared

This category of ORANGE level weather warnings is for weather conditions which have the capacity to impact significantly on people in the affected areas. The issue of an Orange level weather warning implies that all recipients in the affected areas should prepare themselves in an appropriate way for the anticipated conditions.

4.Status Red Weather Alert – Take Action

The issue of RED level severe weather warnings should be a comparatively rare event and implies that recipients take action to protect themselves and/or their properties; this could be by moving their families out of the danger zone temporarily, by staying indoors or by other specific actions aimed at mitigating the effects of the weather conditions.

In the case of a red weather alert that we could see serious disruption to public transport, road closures and school closures.

मौसम विभाग समय-समय पर रंगों से अलर्ट्स जारी करता है। मौसम के बारे में सचेत करने के लिए भी कुछ चुनिंदा रंगों का उपयोग किया जाता है। जैसे रेड अलर्ट, येलो अलर्ट या फिर ऑरेंज अलर्ट। मौसम विभाग के अनुसार अलर्ट्स के लिए रंगों का चुनाव कई एजेंसियों के साथ मिलकर किया गया है। यह काफी हद तक यातायात रौशनी अलर्ट्स की तरह है।

भीषण गर्मी, सर्द लहर, मानसून या चक्रवाती तूफान आदि के बारे में जानकारी देने के लिए इन रंगों के अलर्ट का इस्तेमाल किया जाता है। जैसे-जैसे मौसम अपने चरम की ओर बढ़ता है, वैसे-वैसे अलर्ट गहरा लाल होता चला जाता है। इसी तरह किसी चक्रवाती तूफान की भीषणता भी इन्ही कलर कोड से की जाती है। जितना भीषण चक्रवात उतना ही ज्यादा लाल अलर्ट होता जाता है।

अलर्ट का मतलब –

ग्रीन – कोई खतरा नहीं

येलो अलर्ट – खतरे के प्रति सचेत रहें। मौसम विभाग के अनुसार येलो अलर्ट के तहत लोगों को सचेत रहने के लिए अलर्ट किया जाता है। यह अलर्ट जस्ट वॉच का सिग्नल है।

ऑरेंज अलर्ट – खतरा, तैयार रहें। मौसम विभाग के अनुसार जैसे-जैसे मौसम और खराब होता है तो येलो अलर्ट को अपडेट करके ऑरेंज कर दिया जाता है। इसमें लोगों को इधर-उधर जाने के प्रति सावधानी बरतने को कहा जाता है।

रेड अलर्ट – खतरनाक स्थिति। मौसम विभाग ने बताया कि जब मौसम खतरनाक स्तर पर पहुंच जाता है और भारी नुकसान होने की आशंका होती है तो रेड अलर्ट जारी किया जाता है।
