There are so many interesting folk tales and legends about Sun and Moon, who are believed to be gods by the natives of many countries. In pagant Russia, Sun and Moon also were venerated as deities.
There is, for example, Dažbog, one of the major gods of Slavic mythology, a solar deity and a cultural hero. He is one of several authentic Slavic gods, mentioned by a number of medieval manuscripts, and one of the Slavic gods for whom evidence of worship can be found in all Slavic tribes.
thanks for sharing this story. These stories always fascinate me. I’ll read it on internet.
I always imagine,i mean its a a poet’s imagination – what if Sun and moon want to meet Each other ? what if they are in love?
Actually i lost my husband in an accident. n my marriage anniversary is on 1st June. Do you know ? Memories do not always soften with time; some grow edges like knives.
Dear Rekha,I am sorry that you lost your husband in an accident. I can feel your pain about the tragic loss. Tomorrow is your wedding anniversary. Will you light candles to commemorate it?

This is very poetic:
“at the threshold of the evening, vermilion in the sky,
waiting for the moon and the procession of stars.”

Thank you.
It’s about Sun, he is waiting for the moon in the evening. Although they are never going to meet.

Even in India there are many legends about sun-moon and are worshiped.

They sometimes meet in the early morning or in the late evening – but what is their relationship? I suppose that it is short and fleeting.

Nice thought!! But they keep following each other.

Yes, they follow each other, and yet they are apart. Sun shines during the day, Moon at night. They live in different time zones.
